I should have just kept driving. I actually went out of my way to go here. But no, one rainy and dreary day after work I decided to make a detour to one of my favorite places: Ulta. This place has just about everything that you could think of for your beauty needs (I know you've been there before so I won't digress).
I promise you that I only went into Ulta for one, single, solitary item: Soap & Glory Righteous Butter. This stuff is A M A Z I N G! I have a highly sensitive, eczema-prone skin, and this butter is not only moisturizing, but soothing and it smells nice, too. It is perfect for rough and dry skin, and I had to get a mini jar for my purse and/or traveling.
So I told you the one thing that I went in for. Yet somehow I ended up in the skincare section for your face, just browsing. You know how you shouldn't go grocery shopping on an empty stomach? You probably shouldn't go to Ulta and just browse.
I found myself wandering into the Clarisonic skincare aisle and there she was: Mia. The Clarisonic Mia 1, to be exact. I had been thinking of making this purchase for a while now, and after many side-by-side comparisons to similar products on the market, I did it. I bought it! I know I'm late to the Clarisonic party, as many bloggers and vloggers have already reviewed and raved about this beauty must-have. I got the original one, saving myself $50.00 (not really, keep reading) by not getting the newer edition. This package included the scrubbing brush and a gel cleanser. So far, I am loving this brush (more on that later)! Next, I found myself perusing the cosmetics section. After mulling over several NYX lipstick shades, and deciding against them, I was yet again among shelves upon shelves of skincare products.
The Formula 10.0.6 brand of products and their Clean Getaway Travel Kit instantly stuck out to me. I first saw these products on Gorgeous in Grey's Instagram page, and then again in the impulse section at the checkout in Old Navy. Factoring in my sensitive skin, and that I hadn't heard much about these products, I opted for the travel kit with mini's instead of spending more on full-sizes. I will say that these products are cost-efficient, and after trying them out for the past week, they are work every penny. The kit includes trial sizes of the
Best Face Forward Daily Cleanser, Keep Me Clean Wipes, Pores Be Pure Mud Mask, and So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanse for $9.99. I've been using the daily cleanser in conjunction with the Clarisonic, and I have already been seeing improvements.
In the same section as Formula 10.0.6 were TonyMoly's line of products. I heard about this brand on one of my favorite podcasts, Black Girls Talking. For the last time, I really have dry skin! I was really excited to see this Water Recharging Sleeping Pack, but not as excited to spend $16.50 on it. After washing my face at night, I have been using this all over and under my chin. I'm going to give this a chance, because of its claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (how many times have we heard that?), and of course for the added boost of moisture.
