I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a vacation! Usually when packing for travel, I tend to overpack, as most do. You know how it is when you are getting ready for a trip and your suitcase is bursting at the seams, full of “just in case” items. This time around as I am packing, I’m making sure that I don’t forget these five items, essential for any vacation this summer:
A maxi skirt is an essential addition to every woman’s summer wardrobe. The best part about this item is that you can dress it up with a statement necklace, a solid or printed top, and a nice pair of high-heeled sandals. Not feeling like dressing up? That’s okay! You can throw on a graphic tee, and still pull together a classic look! Best part is that they are breathable, perfect for travel destinations with tropical climates.
Neutral Tee or Tank
Adding a solid tee or tank (or both) to your bag will come in handy when getting ready for vacation. A lightweight top is great for travel days, sightseeing, and goes well with your maxi skirt, a pair of shorts, or boyfriend jeans.
Speaking of jeans, don’t forget to pack at least one pair! I always pack a pair of jeans, because as we all know weather can be tricky. So if the temp drops at night, or it starts to rain, you’ll be prepared to keep warm and dry.
Flats or Sneakers
Again, flats or sneakers come in handy when the weather changes. So don’t forget to pack a pair of cute ballet flats or a comfy pair of sneakers to throw on. These are also a good choice if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking and shopping, as you can easily transition to them from your heels or sandals.
Last but not least, the crossbody bag! I prefer this type of purse when traveling because it’s easy to keep it close to you, you can carry all of your necessities such as a map/tour guide, makeup, phone, wallet, camera, book, etc. Choosing a neutral color such as tan/camel, black, or white/cream will help this accessory complement almost any outfit.
