Every year around festival and carnival time, I see people raving about fried Oreos! I love fried foods so my interest was piqued when I first heard of them. My niece had been begging me incessantly to fry up some Oreos, so we went ahead and battered up “milk’s favorite cookie” and made these delicious treats! Here’s a simple recipe to try them on your own:
12 Oreo Cookies [I prefer the double stuffed for frying]
1 cup pancake mix
2/3 cups water
1/4 cup oil
powder sugar [optional]
Combine the pancake mix and water in a bowl. Pour oil in pan and preheat over medium heat.
Roll the Oreos in the batter that you mixed, covering them.
Place as many battered cookies in the heated oil. You’re going to cook these similar to pancakes, and flip them when they start to brown and bubble. Allow each cookie to cook until golden brown and place them on a plate.
Serve immediately [these taste better when they’re hot!].
We enjoyed our fried Oreos with butter pecan ice cream, but these would go well with any flavor ice cream or a glass of milk.
Just in time for the holiday season, serve up this flaky, chocolate-y delectable dessert for all of your loved ones! For a sweet addition, add cinnamon to your batter or swap out the water for milk. No matter the way that you prepare them, these cookies are going to be the talk of your next event, party, or as the perfect end to a great meal!
